The power and curse to immortalize an idea is what allured Sarah to become a licensed architect, master plumber and real estate broker. Her determination to succeed shows in the passion she puts into every project.
A certified BERDE Professional, Sarah aids in measuring, monitoring, and certifying the performance of green building projects. She has also seen to the completion of several built projects, including U Residence and StorageTown.
Having nearly a decade of experience, as well as licenses in both architecture and master plumbing, Marvin is a seasoned professional in the industry. His area of expertise is in architectural detailing and the construction documents phase, much attributed to his fascination in how buildings are made and the way each part fits together in the a whole.
In his free time, he enjoys taking care of the plants and animals in his home, and immersing himself in various DIY projects.
His curiosity for how buildings were built and planned inspired him to pursue Architecture. He believes in Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s philosophy “Less is More.” Jur is fond of drawing and biking during his leisure time.
Jurand received his architecture degree in 2012 and boasts a decade’s worth of industry experience. His areas of expertise lie in architectural detailing and technical drawings. He is also a key coordinator in several large scale projects including One Garden Residences, Maple Leaf Plaza, and the University of Cebu.
With a passion for both science and art, Brian stands by Doxiadis who said the creation of a better way of living creates better architecture. He is deeply analytical and is always open to different perspectives.
Since joining VSA in 2018, Brian continues to be an experienced team leader and manages multiple projects of various types and scales, including residential, hospitality, commercial, and institutional.
Irvin lives by his favorite quote, “Less is More”. His path in architecture started from simple scaled models he would make in high school and has since developed into a well-rounded proficiency in design.
A certified Building Information Modeling (BIM) Manager, Irvin is responsible for implementing BIM standards and workflows in the firm.
Jason took up architecture at the University of San Carlos-Cebu and went on to work at Palafox Associates, one of the premier architectural firms in the country. In 2012, he took the licensure exam for architecture and placed 5th overall.
In the years since its founding, he has led VSA through a wide range of projects of various typologies and scales; constantly pushing both himself and the team to never settle for just “good enough”. A designer at heart, Jason believes that every problem can be solved by good and intentional design. His pragmatic yet critical approach often yields results that are both creative and highly functional. As an architect, he espouses that in order to improve our built environment we must learn to do more with less and aspire to create design solutions that are innovative, inventive, and not wasteful.
Over the years, Jason has also continued his professional education by gaining certifiication as a BERDE professional while also taking short courses such as the MIT Design Thinking program which he completed in 2020. He also regularly participates as a guest speaker in academic and professional forums where he provides his insights and perspective as an architect and practitioner of the new generation.
Inspired by her loved ones to pursue a degree in architecture, Nicole is the type of person who doesn’t hesitate to seek out new opportunities for growth. Initiative and dedication are qualities that contribute to her excelling as a former university leader and current professional in the field.
Eur is fascinated with small house renovations which led her to take up Architecture and eventually a Master’s Degree in Interior Architecture. She believes that nothing is permanent and that Architecture evolves along with the unceasing development of new technologies.
Manuel continues to pursue architecture because of its ability to make a space feel more than what it is and adding value to the existing environment. He appreciates design in all aspects of life and believes that it is in the details that good design can be achieved. He works toward coming up with deliberate architectural solutions that will shape communities and impact lives for more generations to come. In his free time, he likes to involve himself in any activity that sparks competition such as various sports and video games.
From an early age, Peter has always had a passion for the arts, engaging himself in activities such as painting, sketching, and designing structures. He later realized that design gives him the satisfaction of being able to express his thoughts without having to say a word. A plant enthusiast and self-made environmentalist, he believes that some of the best solutions are those inspired by nature.
Shan’s many travels to different places sparked her interest and encouraged her to pursue a career in architecture. In every project she handles, she always strives to put in her best effort, with a sprinkle of optimism. Shan is never afraid to make mistakes since she believes they are only learning opportunities that will contribute to future success. In her free time, she enjoys fun activities with friends like badminton and video games.
Taking Fine Arts classes in high school opened the doors for Josh to pursue architecture in college. He later fell in love with the designing and found how it gives meaning to the art he creates. Goal-oriented and driven, this mindset has led him to receive the 3rd best thesis award in school and continues to push him to work hard today. He lives by Peter Zumthor’s philosophy that “architecture must be experienced firsthand.” A foodie at heart, he enjoys trying out new restaurants, cafes, and pubs in the city. He also enjoys reading in his spare time.
Janine has always been fascinated with the design and experience one feels upon entering a space. She believes in architecture that takes careful consideration of the environment and promotes local craft and artistry. A mind filled with endless ideas and solutions, she enjoys other creative pursuits such as photography, cooking, sketching, painting, and sculpting.
With her multi-varied job experience, Celene has managed to participate in many events and meet people from different walks of life. It has taught her how to handle herself whenever she is around associates, especially as a self-confessed introvert. Responsible and accountable with every task that she is given, she practices good stewardship. She enjoys cooking, baking, and arts and crafts in her free time.
