prince resort bantayan

Home to pristine white sands and crystal clear waters, Bantayan Island is a fast growing favorite among local and foreign tourists alike looking for a relaxing getaway. It is with this in mind that our client envisioned a project that creates an elevated resort experience while capturing the natural beauty of Bantayan’s beaches.

One of the primary goals for this project was to create a connection with the structure and its surrounding context – that, despite being new, will still feel familiar to the locality and its loyal visitors, akin to the feeling of seeing a close friend after a very long time. To achieve this, a play of volumes break up the building form to visually downplay its scale, while local materials and textures are used to add a touch of familiarity to the design.

Despite being a challenging factor, the narrow width of the lot also proved to be a positive opportunity for the building’s form, which points outward towards the ocean and directs one’s attention to its breathtaking view. This allowed us to establish easier navigation where guests are immediately greeted with a vista of the ocean upon arriving at the main lobby, enhancing their experience even before they enter their rooms. Infinity pools then lead the guests from their rooms towards the beachfront.

With this cascading composition, we were able to blur the feeling of going down a full floor level from the main lobby – a subtle transition that adds to the intuitive, relaxing, and harmonious experience the resort offers.
